Karen Tscherner lives with Leo the Labradoodle in the picturesque and serene lakeside village of Port Stanley. This tranquil environment provides her with the inspiration to create remarkable works of art that soothe the soul. Her unique perspective of still life landscapes gives her the ability to photograph these once in a lifetime images for all to enjoy. Karen's imagination then transposes the beauty of nature into the surreal abstractions of her mind's eye that are truly captivating. Her use of colour, shadows and light evoke a sensation of being taken into a different and more peaceful dimension of real life.

Karen started taking pictures at nine years old where her love and fascination with photography blossomed. She was accepted into and attended the H.B. Beal art program in London, Ontario where a number of famous Canadian artists of note began their creative endeavours. Karen spent many long hours above and beyond what was expected of her instructors always taking her creativity one step beyond. She continued on to study photography at Fanshawe College also in London. During her time at Fanshawe Karen broke away from traditional methods of portraiture where her unique and unconventional stylized technique was first developed. She continued experimenting with this avant-garde style during photo shoots for weddings and portraits creating special memories for her clients, family and friends, and also in boudoir settings for those seeking something a little more enticing for their loved ones.

Karen possesses a flair for life and is appreciative of the beauty in all of creation. Her joie de vivre is expressed in all of her eclectic artistry for everyone to enjoy. Feel free to browse through all the images contained in this site and perhaps you too will see something unique and inspiring that brings you comfort and that you would be proud to display in your home.
